Trying to get a permit for your project?

Langley municipalities require up to three Step Code reports:

Pre-construction compliance report (required for permit application)
Mid-construction blower door airtightness test report
As-built compliance report

The Township of Langley requires new homes to be built to Step 3. For more information on how your project can meet the target, see our Step 3 Requirements page.

Langley City only requires new homes to be built to Step 1, which is equivalent to the 2018 Building Code. However, energy modeling and compliance reports are still required.

Green Building Rebate Program
Township of Langley

The Township of Langley’s Green Building Rebate Program, provides up to $1,500 for residential construction and renovation. Rebates are available to both new and existing buildings within the Township of Langley.

Step Code Rebates:

Step Code plan review subsidy
- Only available for projects reaching Steps 4 or 5
- Up to $300
Mid-construction blower door testing
- Available for Step 3 projects
- Up to $350
Upper Steps incentive for new builds
- Single-family
  - Step 4: $1,000
  - Step 5: $1,500
- Multi-family
  - Step 4: $300 per unit
  - Step 5: $500 per unit
